The mountain

Mt. Guiting-Guiting2,023 m

Mt. Guiting-Guiting, on Sibuyan Island, is Romblon's highest mountain, within Mt. Guiting-Guiting Natural Park, protected since 1996, where about 54 plant species are endemic. Its jagged ultramafic ridges, the Knife Edge among them, make it one of the hardest climbs in the country, rated 9/9. Ruiz, Valino, Torres and Gatia first reached the summit in June 1982, and Mayo's Peak and Bulod's Spring are named from that expedition. Since 2026, DENR closes the mountain every year from November to January.
