It has a 2,000 mm waterproof coating and fully taped seams, and it has passed a 2-hour shower test at 60 litres of water per square metre an hour, which reproduces an average rain shower in the mountains. Two openings give access to the pockets of the jacket or trousers underneath, and a deep zip lets fresh air in while you exert yourself. The polyester fabric resists tearing well. It weighs 340 g in S/M and 380 g in L/XL. It has no waterproof/breathable membrane, so a calm, gentle pace keeps sweating down. The water-repellent treatment on the outside needs renewing every 3 washes with a re-waterproofing spray or liquid.
