MT900 Ultra Compact Trekking Pole
A single 5-section aluminium trekking pole that adjusts from 110 to 130 cm and folds to 36 cm, small enough for your pack's side pocket.
Sold as one pole, so you can use just one, or replace only the one that breaks. It helps you balance, push yourself forward and share the effort between arms and legs. The tubes are 7075-T6 aluminium, wide at 20/18/16/16/16 mm, with internal reinforcement around the push-pin, and end in a tungsten tip. The grip is soft EVA foam that handles sweat and resists tears, with a long lower grip for holding the pole shorter uphill and on slopes, and a thin wrist strap with few seams to avoid blisters. Weight is 275 g; collapsed it is about 6 × 6 cm across. A summer basket is supplied, and accessories and spare parts are sold separately. To set the length, hold the pole with your arm bent at a right angle, open the outer lever, slide the tube and close the lever; never go past the STOP line. Before you set off and now and then on the trail, check the lock by bumping the pole down hard; if it slides, open the lever and turn the knob a quarter to a half turn. Don't put it on your backpack in a storm. If water gets inside, take the sections apart and let them dry, clean off mud with water or a dry brush, and don't oil or grease the mechanisms.
