A dayhike from the Bakun Poblacion that crosses hanging bridges, climbs past a waiting shed with water to Takdag Camsit, the Stairway to Heaven section, and reaches the summit about four hours after the start. The descent takes about the same time, so plan for a full day.

Timetable

  1. Day 1

    1. 06:30Arrive in Bakun Poblacion after the overnight trip from Manila; have breakfast, register at the tourism office (reservations are needed at least 3 days ahead) and meet the guide.
    2. 07:15Start the hike (about 1,134 m).
    3. 07:35Cross the first hanging bridge.
    4. 07:40Cross the second hanging bridge.
    5. 07:55Pass the Kabunian–Pattan junction (about 958 m).
    6. 09:00Reach the waiting shed and water source (about 1,300 m); refill water.
    7. 10:00Climb Takdag Camsit, the Stairway to Heaven section.
    8. 10:40Cross the third hanging bridge (about 1,500 m).
    9. 11:15Reach the Kayapa–Kabunian junction and its water source (about 1,650 m).
    10. 11:20Summit of Mt. Kabunian (about 1,789 m); lunch.
    11. 13:30Start the descent by the same trail.
    12. 15:45Back in the Poblacion.
