A dayhike from Legazpi: van or jeep to Tabaco, then to Brgy. Tanawan to register, trek past the cold spring to Sugad Plaza, then on to the crater-rim peak. The summit is about six hours away, and the descent ends with an optional dip in the cold spring pools.

Timetable

  1. Day 1

    1. 05:00Take a van or jeep from Legazpi to Tabaco.
    2. 06:00From Tabaco, take a jeep or tricycle to Brgy. Tanawan; register at the barangay hall and secure a guide.
    3. 07:00Start the trek between 7:00 and 8:30 AM, through abaca plantations along clear streams.
    4. 08:30Arrive at Sugad Plaza, a campsite with a nearby water source.
    5. 12:00Reach the summit and crater rim (about 1,450 m) between 12:00 and 12:15 PM; lunch.
    6. 13:00Start the descent.
    7. 17:00Back in Brgy. Tanawan; cool off in the cold spring pools if you like.
    8. 18:00Head back toward Legazpi.
    9. 19:00Arrive in Legazpi.
