The shorter way up starts at Brgy. Sinacbat in Bakun and reaches the summit in about three and a half hours. It can be done as a dayhike or with a night at the summit campsite.

Timetable

  1. The night before

    1. 09:00Meet up in Greenfields District, Mandaluyong City.
    2. 09:30Depart for Bakun, Benguet.

  2. Day 1

    1. 04:45Register at Brgy. Gambang and pay the environmental fee.
    2. 05:15Resume the ride to Brgy. Sinacbat.
    3. 07:20Arrive at the Sinacbat barangay hall and meet the guide.
    4. 08:00Start the trek at the barangay hall (Km 0, about 1,700 m).
    5. 08:30Pass Sitio Lupunan (Km 4, about 1,600 m), where there is water; breakfast stop.
    6. 09:45Start of the assault (Km 5.2, about 1,510 m).
    7. 10:00Climb the railings known as Hagdan ni Bulilit (about 1,570 m).
    8. 10:20Pass the Bathtub spring (Km 6, about 1,720 m), the last water on the trail.
    9. 11:10Pass the campsite (Km 6.7, about 1,830 m).
    10. 11:30Summit of Mt. Tenglawan and its rocky Carrot Peak knob, taking care at the drops.
    11. 13:15Start the descent.
    12. 13:45Back at the Bathtub spring.
    13. 14:00Back at the railings.
    14. 16:00Back at the Sinacbat barangay hall; tidy up.
    15. 16:30Late lunch.
    16. 18:00Depart for Baguio City.

  3. Day 2

    1. 03:00Arrive in Manila.
