El Saco Peak

El Saco Peak rises on the eastern rim of the Mount Mariveles caldera in Mariveles, Bataan, just northeast of Tarak Peak. Most hikers reach it as a side trip from Tarak Ridge, 45 minutes to an hour each way; those on the Pantingan–Tarak traverse arrive by a steep climb out of the caldera floor at Bakwat River. Its trail was once badly overgrown and is clearer now, though thick in places.

No one has reported whether it’s open. Check with the local office before you go.
