Fees and permits

Each of the three Bakun peaks has its own guides, so one guide can't take a group over all three. As of 2018 the guide fee was ₱900 for a group of six, plus ₱50 an hour beyond six hours, and the environmental fee ₱75 a person.

Watch out for

  • Rusty, swaying steel hanging bridge
  • Knife-edge ridge to the summit with drops on both sides (fenced)
  • Rocky trail, very slippery when wet

No one has reported whether it’s open. Check with the local office before you go.
